Sunflower Hill Case Study
Sunflower Hill Case Study
Sunflower Hill is one of the non-profit organizations that asked Cerro Vista for help to assist in both acquiring and developing property in the San Francisco Bay region. In San Francisco, land is scarce so it was an incredible task to undertake this project, especially the type of development needed.
For this particular project, Cerro Vista employed unique land acquisition tactics to overcome the challenges being faced by the client. Whether it is partnering with affordable housing developers to working with the local community, they work extremely hard to solve whatever challenge comes their way. In this particular case, Alan and his team located a developer who was willing to donate 1.7 acres in order to develop this particular special needs community. They also forged a partnership between the teams at Sunflower Hill and SAHA so that they could fund the construction project. By bringing together the city, local community and developer, Cerro Vista was able to provide a great solution for the client.
As a result, both the City of Pleasanton and the local community embraced this innovative housing concept and built out 31 one and two bedroom units as well as 4,800 sf of community/program space for residents. This Project is scheduled for completing in the Spring of 2020.
